Music news!

On Sunday August 5 I’m on a plum of a house concert with a whole great lineup of other local acts. It’s a benefit for RAINN, an organization that provides services to survivors of sexual assault and abuse. 4-8pm in Alameda. More details here.

On Saturday August 18 I’ll be at the Berkeley Humane Bark & Meow Around the Block event. I play at 11:15, but the event goes from 10-4. More details here.

And for you lovely followers, I’ll admit I’m better at keeping Facebook up to date in these short-attention-span times. I’ve pretty much moved the party there. I also have a page on Reverb Nation with songs, videos and show listings. Come visit. And thank you, always, for supporting local music.

Hello friends! I was lucky to be invited back to play music at THREE of my favorite places this summer.

Upcoming shows:

Sat 6/16, 10 am to noon
Sophie’s Cuppa Tea
With Graham Hill
The most elegant Chinese tea and the most miserable Americana songs.
All ages, no cover

Thurs 6/28, 8pm
The Fireside Lounge
A “best of” songwriter showcase with other local acts. I don’t know who they are yet, but there are usually some wonderful musicians here.

Sat 8/18
Berkeley Humane Bark & Meow Around the Block
9th and Carleton Streets, Berkeley
Berkeley Humane’s pet adopt-a-thon. Music, food, and fur babies from 10am – 4pm. My time slot is TBD.
All ages, no cover

Your future best friend

I’m playing at Berkeley Humane’s Bark (& Meow) Around the Block this Saturday, August 19. Music starts at 10, I’m on at 11:15. Mary Cranley is going to join me on fiddle for a few songs, and you know you don’t want to miss hearing Mary.

After the set I will exercise supreme self-control and proceed directly away from the premises before I can adopt All. The. Puppies.

YOU GUYS. I made the top 10 on Reverb Nation AGAIN.  I’m not totally sure how that works, but if you were the one listening to my songs, thank you.

There’s a new poster for the March 11 show!

The night is a benefit for The California Initiative, which is a pretty great group. Albert Einstein said: “Peace is not merely the absence of war but the presence of justice.” I like that this concert for peace is going to bring some money to people who work for justice.

I’ll be back at the Fireside on March 11th alongside a whole bunch of actual talent in another Georgia Sam Concert for Peace.
